Do you guys like "Resuscitate Me" or "Me and My Microphone" better?
They're both very different sounding records but good in their own ways so I'm just curious.

I definately prefer "Me and my microphone" - and even more "Mikrofonkat". Again, I can't figure out if I prefer the Swedish version because I was used to it before or not... but I still have to agree with what Steve has just said about the English lyrics being not so good.

I don't think that the Swedish version would get any attention in the USA though... it's hard to get any other language than English here, so I guess that "Me and my microphone" would be a better option than "Mikrofonkat" if you ever were to release one of them (and I'm not even mentionning the fact that people working in the radios that could airplay this song will probably be reluctant to go with the Swedish version). "Dragostea din tei" was more of a "funny song" and it had these "numa numa i-ay" that were extremely easy to remember, it doesn''t even matter if you speak Romanian or not. The fact that it wasn't too serious kinda broke the language problem - note that I might be absolutely wrong here, that is just my opinion :). The September song has no easy part to remember in terms of lyrics in its Swedish version.

As for "Resuscitate me", it's just OK for me. It just has nothing special, it's good, without being "brilliant". There's nothing really catching my attention. The melody of Mikrofonkat is much much stronger and catchy IMHO.

What about you, Stephanie :)?

"Dragostea Din Tei" wasn't a for fun song. It was written with the same hope to become popular that all songs have. It just so happened that non-Romanians liked the "miya he miya hoo..." and found it fun to sing along to so much that they ignored the language barrier. I'm not saying it's the same situation as Mikrofonkat, just that it is possible for a foreign language song to get exposure in the US.

I would want it on the cd so fans would have the opportunity to own it, not so it would get airplay.

Oh yea I definately would want to have the Swedish version on the CD, granted there will be one (wink to Stephanie ;) )...

Again the thing about "Dragostea din tei", even with the language barrier, people COULD sing along somehow, because there was this easy to pronounce and repetitive words. For "Mikrofonkat", I can't think of any part that would be like a "gimmick", if you know what I mean.

According to an article in Swedish newspaper Expressen:

1. "Mikrofonkat" has gone platinum (20k)
2. (google translation) The theme is slightly different in English, it is not possible to directly translate. Then I had rather do on a slightly different way, and try to get a little clever, and funny. I sing about me and my pickups are out in the world and sing and live flea, "said Petra Marklund and laughs.
3. It will be on the album, as has already been said.
4. English record labels have shown interest, while there has been a lot of buzz about it by labels in the US (us here?).

Oh now! Don't make me choose :D

They are both so amazing!!!!!

But, I think "Me and My Microphone" is probably the better.
